A client from Maple Ridge recently contacted the team at Certified Autosound and Security about upgrading the stereo system in his 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. The client wanted a system that sounded significantly better than the premium system that came with the vehicle. After inspecting the SUV and letting the client audition several speaker options in our showroom, our product specialists put together a plan to create a one-of-a-kind solution that would look and sound amazing.
Jeep Trackhawk Speaker Upgrade
Our team started work by fabricating custom mounting adapters for a set of JL Audio’s C7-650cw woofers for the doors of the Jeep. Next, they set to work integrating the C7-350cm midrange drivers and C7-100ct tweeters into the A-pillars. We upgraded the rear doors with a set of Blam 165 RSQ speakers to wrap the sound around the vehicle. While we had the door panels off, we treated the inner and outer skins with SQL Soundmat damping material to help reduce the noise level in the vehicle.
Factory Radio Integration
The UConnect system in the Jeep is heavily integrated into the vehicle and cannot be replaced. We used a PAC AmpPRO 4 interface to extract an audio signal from the factory infotainment system. An APA-TOS1 Toslink output adapter was used to make the connection to the system amplifiers easy and noise-free.
Trackhawk Custom Amp Rack

The focal point of the installation is in the cargo area of the Jeep. Our team created a custom amp rack to show off the pair of JL Audio VXi amplifiers and Helix subwoofers. Our team used our CNC router to cut the trim panels and our laser to add custom etching for a classy look.
The system is powered by the eight-channel VX800/8i and an VX1000/1i amplifier with integrated digital signal processing. Channels 1 and 2 of the XV800/8i power the tweeters, channels 3 and 4 power the midrange drivers, and channels 5 through 8 are bridged to deliver an impressive 200 watts to each of the door woofers. A four-channel XD400/4v2 is bridged to drive the rear speakers, and the 1,000-watt VX1000/1i provides up to 500 watts to each of the subwoofers.
The Helix W 10W subwoofers are installed in a vented subwoofer enclosure just behind the rear seats of the Jeep. A vinyl-wrapped trim piece with a diamond pattern surrounds the subs and mimics the inserts on the front and rear seats.
Jeep Trackhawk Stereo Upgrade
With the fabrication complete and the system tuning wrapped up, the client returned to Certified Autosound and Security to see and hear his vehicle. As you can imagine, he was blown away in every way! If you are interested in a premium audio upgrade for your vehicle, drop by one of our stores in Abbotsford, Chilliwack or Maple Ridge or send us an e-mail using our contact form.
Hello I just purchased a 2019 Jeep Trackhawk and after reading your article and seeing the workmanship I’m very impressed and could imagine the sounds quality! I want the same system as you mentioned in article in my Trackhawk! I have a few questions approximately what is timeframe to get on your schedule? Where is closest location to Cleveland Ohio? And ballpark estimate on cost?
Thank you anxiously waiting on reply, Calvin Wright
Hi Calvin,
Thanks for reaching out! We are definitely quite far away from you but could recommend a few companies closer to you that can facilitate high quality installation and tuning.
We will reach out via Email shortly!
Take care,
I have a 2021 Trackhawk on its way
What was the price point this system as I may be interested
in a similar setup 😉
Hi Bill, it would be best to reach out to our Maple Ridge location to discuss pricing. It is very difficult to give a “ballpark” on such an elaborate project.
