As one of the owners of Certified Autosound, Pat Lee wanted his 2015 Ram stereo system to look amazing, sound great and show off his team’s capabilities. As with most owners, Pat hadn’t had a full system in a vehicle for many years. With some motivation from Mobile Solutions Canada, the Canadian distributor for Blam and Audison, the team put together an awesome system just in time for the dealer conference at the Mobile Solutions head office in Calgary.
Ram Stereo System Design
The system in the Ram was going to need to sound amazing and look equally impressive. The team sat down and discussed design options. Motivated by the desire to have largest number of Prima amplifiers in a single vehicle in Canada, the concept evolved from amp rack forward. Audison stepped up with the first of the new Audison bit Nove processors to spur the project along.
Amplifier Installation

Tyler was assigned the task of mounting and wiring up seven Prima amplifiers on the back wall of the trim. Three AP1 D amps were assigned to power the three subwoofers, and another pair was dedicated to the system’s midbass drivers in the doors. A pair of AP4 D four-channel amps powers the mids and tweeters on the dash and the rear fill speakers in the back doors. The system was wired using Wirez Signature Series power wire, speaker wire and interconnects.
Subwoofer Enclosure
Derek at the Chilliwack store was assigned the task of creating the subwoofer enclosure for the system. Tyler knew that as a Top 50 Installer, Derek would pull out all the stops on the design. The bottom of the enclosure was fiberglassed into the area under the rear bench seat with a layered design that combines vinyl, acrylic plastic and microsuede. The front edge and trim around the center subwoofer illuminate in bright green with LED strips mounted behind the acrylic plastic layer.
Derek mounted three Audison Prima 10-inch APS 10 D subwoofers in the enclosure. Each AP1 D amplifier provides up to 540 watts of power to each sub.
Dash Speaker Pods
Tim was charged with creating the dash speaker pods and door speaker installation. Continuing his obsession with acrylic plastic, Tim created a set of triangular pods for the three-inch midrange and 1.1-inch tweeter from a Blam 165.300 three-way speaker set. In keeping with the layered design in the subwoofer enclosure, Tim added acrylic plastic and green LEDs around the speakers and the outer rim of the pod.
The pods are held in place using high-strength magnets. A wire rope anchor was added to ensure that the pod wouldn’t become a projectile in the event of an accident.
The 6.5-inch woofer from the 165.300 set is installed in the factory door speaker location on an acrylic plastic mounting adapter. A set of Blam 165 RC 6.5-inch coaxial speakers mounted in the back doors handle rear fill duties. The truck is damped with soundmat and blackhole tiles.
Source Unit Integration
The Audison bit Nove is a new digital signal processor that includes six input channels and nine outputs. Uniquely, and fortunate for the Certified team, the Nove is also compatible with the new ADS Maestro AR amplifier replacement module. The AR extracts a full-range audio signal from the factory source unit and forwards volume commands into the Nove to control the system from the head unit or steering wheel volume controls. The result is OEM-like functionality with exceptional performance and tuning flexibility. This is the first time a Nove has been installed in Canada.
Accessories
A Blackvue DR650S-2CH dashcam monitors and records everything that is going on in front of and behind the vehicle while Pat is driving. An Escort 9500CI radar detector system alerts Pat to any speed traps. The display for the unit is integrated into the rearview mirror.
Certified Autosound Demo Vehicle
With the system configured and tuned, it was one of the highlights of the dealer expo at Mobile Solutions Canada. Back in British Columbia, the truck is regularly used to demonstrate the impressive capabilities of the Certified Autosound team.
