Backup Camera for UConnect – Dodge Ram UConnect Upgrades
Our standard interface module allows the integration of a reverse camera into the factory Dodge Ram Uconnect© LCD screen. The backup camera displays automatically while in reverse and can also be forced on in any gear while driving. For visual confirmation during operation and ease of initial setup, the interface displays the operational state of the device, as well as the setup menus, on the factory dash cluster. Displaying the operational and setup information on the dash cluster eliminates the need for a computer during the initial setup process and ensures that the your eyes remain on the road ahead during operation.

Good afternoon, I have a few questions. My 16 grand Cherokee has rear seat entertainment, two monitors. I can listen in and watch while parked, or I can listen to music while the kids watch a move(DVD player in console). Here is my question, my 16 Dodge Ram same 8.4 unit, does not have this option. I have a player in the center console that appears to be the same as my jeep. Is there a way to replicate what I have in my jeep into my truck? I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance
Hi Michael
We would have to take a look at your ram and then come up with a few options for you but we should be able to achieve something that you will be happy with just come on down to the shop and we will gladly go over those with you
Thanks
My 2017 dodge 2017 ram as a back up camera I want to add a camera to the back of my rv. Can I do this and what do I need thanks phil
Hi Phil that is definitely something we can do. Your best bet is to come down to one of our stores and we can go over options with you!
I have a 2014 Ram with uconnect 8.4AN and the screen looks like one is backing into a heavy fog. I have install a new camera and it is not any better. Any suggestion?
That is an issue we would have to trouble shoot in person at the shop. Where are you located?
I just hooked up the oem backup camera on a 2018 ram cab and chassis. When I put the vehicle in reverse, the monitor shows that the camera is not connected, just as it did before plugging the camera in. Is there another step to activate it?
Yes the dealer will have to unlock your poem screen to allow the backup camera feature to work
I don’t know if you can help me. I recently purchased a 2013 dodge ram 1500 express. It had uconnect RA1 in the dash without Bluetooth. the dealer put Bluetooth mopar kit in after the sale. The sound quality of the mic was annoying so I decided to upgrade to the RA2 with mirror with microphones. All went well except I lost my back up cam (was in the mirror) when I tried to reroute the video to the radio screen. I get nothing when put in reverse, no blue screen, nothing. So I had XAC codes flashed at the dealer and that did nothing. So I bought another RA2, this time a 2015. Same deal when I installed it. No camera. I have infotainment video reroute harness installed and the wires seem good on a continuity check. I am going to another dealer on Wednesday, suppose to be the best in the area with these problems. Have you ever heard of this problem before ? I think its either a wiring problem or configuration. I believe more in the configuration problem because the last radio would not accept the codes the deal tried to put in. Any advice would be great. Thanks
We have never run into that issue and we do a lot of add on cameras with the dealer unlocking the screen for us. my guess would be wiring related but that being said it would be something we could diagnose for you. Where are you located?
I had a backup camera installed in my 2017 Ram. Camera was activated by the dealer but does not work. While in reverse, the screen reads, ‘Camera system unavailable.’ Any help is appreciated.
Hi Nathan, it sounds like there is a problem with the camera, or the connection at the headunit. We would generally pull the radio, and put a test camera on the input to see if the installed camera is functioning, or if it is a different issue.
Hi! So I got this new camera for my 2016 Charger. My car is factory wired for it, but it wasn’t an option when we bought the car. So I bought the camera, plugged it in…. and nothing. My car has no idea it’s there. Is there a way to unlock it without a tazer? Or paying more money??
Hey Cecily,
Its tough to say without looking at the car, If you are able to swing by one of our locations we could look into it for you.

Hi! I actually solved this problem a couple days later. I did end up going to a dealership and paying like $140 just for them to turn it on. ????
Thank you, though.
