A client and former employee of Certified Autosound and Security from Maple Ridge contacted us to build a demo vehicle for his distribution company. The vehicle is a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the plan was to for Tyler Neault at our Maple Ridge store to build something worthy of being on display at the Knowledgfest show in Dallas in August 2019.
SQL Audio Front Stage
Tyler constructed an expanded PVC mounting panel to locate a set of SQL Audio CL-165.V1 midbass drivers in each door woofer location, then mounted one of the CB-135.V1 drivers in the midrange location using custom-cut acrylic adapters. A set of Soundwave foam coupling rings was added around the woofers to seal against the grille. Finally, a set of the CB-115.V1 tweeters were mounted in the dash. The doors were treated with SQL Audio Soundmat damping material.
Corvette Subwoofer System and Amp Rack
Tyler used our in-house CNC router to cut all of the panels to ensure perfect alignment for the trim panels and the magnets that would secure everything in place. At the front of the trunk are two Mosconi Gladen Pro 5|30 amplifiers and a pair of Illusion C10 shallow-mount subwoofers to handle bass frequencies.
Tyler used a combination of OEM Chevrolet Alcantara, vinyl and red acrylic plastic to trim the amps and the subwoofers. Take note of the pressed grille around the subs and how it’s molded around the magnet structure. The Certified logo is engraved into the Alcantara on the right-side trim panel, with “Built by Tyler” on the left panel.
System Processing
The system is controlled by a Mosconi digital signal processor that is mounted on the left side of the trunk. Tyler used high-strength neodynium magnets to maintain easy access to the processor while ensuring it was secure while the car was in motion.
The system is designed to maintain easy access to the battery and fuse panel in the rear of the car. The amp rack and enclosure are mounted using two existing fastener locations, and a pair of nutserts are the only modification to the vehicle.
Premium Radar Detector

While Tyler had the car apart, he integrated an Escort MAX Ci 360 radar detector and laser defense system into the vehicle. The system includes dedicated front and rear radar antennae and four ShifterMax laser transceivers.
Corvette Car Audio Demo Vehicle
After about 15 days of work, Tyler had the audio and radar systems installed in this Chevy Corvette. The client was thrilled with the look of the system and the way it sounds.
